Cycle Source Anniversary Build Pt II

Ok, so we are finished with the anniversary bike frame, save for the top motor mount. There is no stainless top motor mount available out there, so we will fashion one ourselves.

chris blog 003

I’m not the biggest fan of stainless steel, except on pipes, but this thing has me very aroused. I love it. Tim did a KILLER job of welding it up. HUGE thanks to Lemme and Darren for a good chunk of the fab work.

chris blog 004

4” up and 30 degree rake. A short STL style bike. Will handle tremendously, and look tasty as well. Now I just need some drivetrain gear!

Official Press Release

So here is the press release I am sending out on our seat springs. I’ve hated the junk taiwanchinakorea seat springs since I first let them infect my hands. Since I couldn’t find any quality alternative, I decided to get our own together. Check em out…

Bare Knuckle Choppers is excited to about this new offering for all you chopper fiends; 3” stainless steel seat springs. These seat springs fix three major problems with the current springs offered to the public. First and foremost, these springs are made right here in the USA! Secondly, the springs eliminate the need for shoddy chrome plating, as they are made from stainless steel. And finally, they are 20% stiffer than the run of the mill springs out there. No more bottoming out!

Hey, the best part is the price! These bad boys are only $15! Electropolished version will be available soon, and will run ya a couple extra bucks. Of course dealer inquiries are always invited. Early Saturday Morning, a spinning lathe, and Waylon

Man, I don’t know if it’s the fact that I started at 4:30 this morning or what, but Ol Watasha and uninterrupted work sure puts a smile on my face.

It was just a few short years ago I’d be rolling home about this time.

I love this old Esab. It’s not my Dynasty, but it is a great TIG machine. It’s a workhorse.

Alright, enough rambling. I gotta make this pile a few feet deeper.

just back from Vegas

Man, what a great time! Besides the usual jackassery that accompanies such a trip, we also got to see some really cool stuff, meet some great folks, and do a little business.

I met a great customer, Sean Cruz, an LV native (actually Guam), that built a killer little Buell chop on 23's. He got 2nd place at the Hogs and Heifers Saloon show. Good dude. I think we will be shooting a feature for Cycle Source soon on one or two of his scoots.

Participated in the Artistry in Iron show with Incognegro. We didn't win, but we gave 'er hell. This will be one of the last shows for this chop, at least on our end. I guess we better get something else out the door...

Last, but certainly not least... I got to take a visit to Denver's Choppers. Fuck, what an experience!!! No bullshit, you could sense the greatness that has walked between those lifts, signed the walls, and left the doors of Mondo's shop. In a day and age where bike shops pop up overnight, where floor space is similar to that of a huge warehouse, you could tell this place was built around the gearhead. While Mondo's shop is not small, it is tight. It is crammed full of equipment, bikes in progress, and history. It humbles me to have walked through this man's work area, a work area truly devoted to the legend of a friend.

Thank you Mondo.

I will be posting pics before too long. Or maybe I'll forget.

Later, Paul

Some pretty cool news...

We've just been asked by Keino Sasaki of Keino's Cycles fame to be a part of the Brooklyn Invitational this fall.

This is a true honor, as it is a gathering of some extremely talented individuals. From Tom Fugle and Steve Bonge, to Shinya Kimura and Chopper Dave, to Paul Cox and Aki Sakamoto, we are humbled to be included in this event. Hopefully we do not dilute the gene pool too much.

The event is September 17, in Brooklyn of course.

I still cannot believe we were asked to be a part of it. Seriously, these are some of my heroes.

Thanks Keino

A few quick pics of Incognegro

So Incognegro and Damage Case left yesterday for the AMD World Show in the trusting hands of Shannon and Russ, with Will from Faith Forgotten Choppers already there representing us. Nic and I have some business to attend to here, so we may not make it to Sturgis this year.

But this cute little fucker did. Details and more pics soon.

Tuesday, August 2, 2011

Quick update

Russ just got back from Mountain Fest in West Virginia. Had a blast, people were great. Big thanks to the Mountain Fest and Cycle Source crew for the hospitality. Thanks guys, you rocked as always.

Leaving for Sturgis in a day or so. Incognegro is waiting on one or two parts, but no worries. It will be in the AMD World Show along with Nic's Damage Case.

Hopefully stopping by the Twisted Choppers camp to hang with Lemme and the guys, time permitting. I know they're up around the clock, so I'm sure we'll see them.

We will probably not being set up this year, although we will be around the Limp Nickie Lot at the Buffalo Chip. Sorry, we need a break, so we are taking a little vacation while we are out there. If you need something or want to purchase something and save on shipping, let us know today or tomorrow.

New fender later today! This is a really cool idea I've had in my head for quite some time, and we just finished the mandrel last night, so I will spin a few out this morning. It's a dyed-in-the-wool 70's piece. Break out the lace and acid drops!!!

That's it for now. Got a few more things for ya after Sturgis.

Later y'all!

AMD show in 4 weeks

Got a lot to do...

A little something to think about

The Arabs aren't happy..............

They're not happy in Gaza. They're not happy in Egypt. They're not happy in Libya. They're not happy in Morocco. They're not happy in Iran. They're not happy in Iraq. They're not happy in Yemen. They're not happy in Afghanistan. They're not happy in Pakistan. They're not happy in Syria. They're not happy in Lebanon.

And where are they happy?

They're happy in England. They're happy in France. They're happy in Italy. They're happy in Germany. They're happy in Sweden. They're happy in the USA. They're happy in Norway. They're happy in Canada. They're happy in every country that is not Muslim. And who do they blame?

Not Islam. Not their leadership. Not themselves.

THEY BLAME THE COUNTRIES THEY ARE HAPPY IN!!

Happy Fourth!

Nothing important to say, so we'll let our prez have a word...

Buy American or Die

You guys are probably all familiar with the monthly article Nichole and I write for Cycle Source, Buy American or Die. The newest installment will be hitting the newstands in the next few days. You CANNOT miss it. It focuses on everyone's favorite supporter of China; Walmart.

Please read this one. It will tune you in to the way Walmart is slowly deteriorating our jobs and manufacturing industries. Trust me; you will be surprised how much damage one retailer can do.

Of course, The Source will also be jam-packed full of other great info, event coverage, and killer bike features.

New Build

So a long time friend came to us wanting another bike built. Of course it can't be like anything we've done before, so we called on John at Hardtail Choppers for a set of cast stainless frame gear.

I was blown away when it all got here. This stuff is amazing. Look for us to be doing more with John in the future.

These babies are off to the polisher tomorrow. Got some gnarly ideas brewing for this one.

Incognegro back from chrome!!!

Well, she's back folks, and just about ready to go to final assembly for her debut in Sturgis! Paul's finest work by far, this frame is superbadass with nothing short of perfection, and the black nickel
emphasizes every last detail.
Let us know what you think!

New Blown Glass Shift Knobs!!!!

We've gotten together with Jerome, our badass glass man to come up with these new beauties. Available in about a million different styles, shapes, and colors, no two are alike.

For the most part, each one will be posted here on the site with an individual price. Prices will range from $80-120, being tiered, depending on color, design, and material. The one you see will be the one you are buying.

This first batch utilizes a 3/8"-16 thread pitch. Future knobs will use a 3/8"-24 thread pitch.

While we are still working on our website, stay tuned to our blog, as this is the only place they are available, along with our showroom.

Also, keep in mind, these are made one at a time, by a short-tempered, well-armed craftsman. While he does top notch work, these are hand blown glass, and minor imperfections may occur. These bastards are tough as nails, made from a Pyrex type glass; they'll last.

This first batch is ready to go. Call or email...
